Scientific knowledge and technology: the influence of knowledge on the development of Christian visual discourses in Romanesque art.
The conference will offer an overview of the scientific and technical knowledge with which medieval men and women represented the functioning of their world.
It will show, on the basis of works varied in origin and materials, how Christian artists were able to reuse this knowledge to establish their visual discourse.
